Dear Parents/Carers,
Coronavirus Update for Parents of Children on Site this Week
I am writing to advise you that a child who has been in school this week, today developed symptoms which could be Coronavirus. The parents of the children in that 'bubble' (class group) have been contacted already today by phone, and have also now been sent a letter with further advice. However, we wanted to contact parents of all children on site to explain the advice that we have been given by Public Health England and the Local Authority, and to reassure you that we feel we have done everything possible to minimise the risk.
As a precaution we have asked the child’s parents to keep them at home, and take them for a Coronavirus test as soon as possible.
We have been given advice that only the children and staff in that bubble need to stay at home. Other children and staff who are expected in school this week are able to continue attending. I want to assure you that we have been extremely vigilant in keeping our 'bubbles' separate, so there has not been contact between children outside of your child's own group. Each bubble has also had their own rooms/areas allocated to them each week, and have therefore not used the same spaces or resources in school.
However, we recognise that there is a local Leicester lockdown in response to an increase in Coronavirus cases in our City. Therefore, please be vigilant in continuing to look for the symptoms of Coronavirus. These are:
Please do not send your child in to school if they seem at all unwell or have any of the above symptoms.
If your child or anyone in your household develops symptoms, you will need to ensure they are tested.
You can book a test online at nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test or call 119.
Alternatively, there are currently test centres open at:
If you have any concerns or queries, please do not hesitate to contact us. Your child’s safety is our utmost priority. We will contact you as soon as we know anything more.
Regards
Sarah
