Early Help is about providing help and support to families at the right time to prevent issues from escalating.
Early Help is about providing help and support to families at the right time to prevent issues from escalating.
At Oaklands, we provide a range of coffee mornings, workshops, our family support worker and multi-agency work to support families. Signposting families to the right services and advice points is one of the roles of our family support worker, this can include support with housing, finance, benefits, respite.
Through working together with families and other services, our Early Help offer should support and strengthen families so that they can thrive.
An EHA is defined as multi-agency support for children, young people and families where there might be multiple issues affecting the family. A Team Around the Family (TAF) approach is used with an identified Lead Practitioner. At Oaklands School, a DSL has been specifically trained to take on the role of Lead Practitioner, but at times, a Family Support Worker or Child Development Worker from outside of the school may be allocated to this role following the Early Help Assessment.
To seek advice, signposting or low level and short term support contact a DSL at Oaklands by calling the school office on 0116 2415921 or you can self-refer by calling the council's Advice Point on 0116 454 1004 or walk in to your nearest centre - view the cluster map (PDF).
