Dear Parents/Carers,

Coronavirus Update

I am writing to you again following my recent correspondence about  a child on site who had a symptom of Coronavirus.

The child has remained at home since Thursday and has taken a Coronavirus test. We are pleased to inform you that they have had a negative result.

We will remain vigilant on site and will continue to communicate any changes to our situation with you.

The main symptoms of coronavirus are:

• a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)

• a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

• a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

Please be vigilant in continuing to look for the symptoms of Coronavirus. If your child or a household member has symptoms of Coronavirus and you need further advice you can call NHS 111. You MUST NOT send your child in to school if they have any of these symptoms.

You must also keep your child off school for 48 hours if they have nausea, diarrhoea or any other signs of illness. Please ring the school office to let us know.
