Try to use a range of different construction materials with your child. Encourage your child to play with construction materials. Can your child attempt to connect bricks together or break them apart? Can they use the bricks to build a model?
Encourage your child to take part in a range of cooking activities at home. Try to develop your child’s fine motor skills. Encourage your child to stir and use different cooking utensils. Encourage your child to interact with the different textures and explore different recipes with them.
Have a range of different materials for your child to explore such as jelly bath, felt, corn flour, ice cubes with materials frozen inside and sand and water.
Develop your child’s fine motor skills by completing threading activities. Is your child able thread a range of different shapes? Try to complete cutting and sticking activities allowing your child to collage with different materials to make a textured picture or cut along straight, wavy and curved lines. Try to encourage your child to experiment with play dough. You can make your own edible play dough using jelly. Encourage your child to roll it out and use cutters to make different shapes.
